About this app

Most walking apps are built for people who are already fit. WalkReady is built for people rebuilding stamina, after surgery, illness, weight gain, or a long pause. No streaks. No badges. No pressure.

How it works:

Open WalkReady and you'll see your last walk's step count. That's your current stamina. Choose how many steps to add today. Maybe a hundred. Maybe none. Maybe a few hundred if you're feeling good.
Then start walking. WalkReady is a simple step tracker that runs quietly in the background while you focus on the walk. At the halfway point, you'll hear a quiet audio cue and feel a small buzz. That's your turn-around signal. Walk back the way you came.
Tap done when you're home. Your walk is saved. Tomorrow, you decide again.
That's the whole app. Out and back. Honest progress.

It works whether you're at 10,000 steps a day or 10:

WalkReady meets you where you are. If you're walking ten steps to the mailbox and back, that's your baseline. If you're already walking miles, that's your baseline too. The app adds a little to yesterday, whatever yesterday looked like. No judgment about where you start. Just dignity, patience, and forward motion.

Who WalkReady is for:

If you're rebuilding after a knee or hip replacement, this is for you.
If your doctor told you to walk every day after a cardiac event, this is for you.
If you started a GLP-1 medication and know you need to move but can't face another fitness app, this is for you.
If chronic pain, fatigue, or a long illness has made every step feel like a calculation, this is for you.
If you're an older adult building gentle walking habits, this is for you.
If you're starting again after a long pause and need a slow, simple way back, this is for you.
If you've been thinking about getting a pedometer but want something that lives in the phone you already carry, this is for you.

Why we built it the way we built it:

No streaks. Bad days happen. They shouldn't punish you.
No leaderboards. You're not competing with anyone.
No public feeds. Your recovery is yours.
No notifications nagging you. You'll walk when you're ready.
No ads. Not now. Not ever.

WalkReady Plus:

The core walking app is free, forever. Everything you need to start, build stamina, and track your progress is included.
If you want more, WalkReady Plus adds:
Cloud sync across your devices
Google Fit and Health Connect integration so your walks count toward your health record
A clinician PDF you can send to your doctor or physical therapist
Walking Buddies: a small, quiet way to share progress with family or friends without anyone scrolling a public feed
WalkReady Plus is $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year. No free trial, because we don't believe in trial gimmicks. Try the free app as long as you want
.
Why WalkReady exists:

WalkReady was built by one person for people like himself. Brad started a GLP-1 medication and knew he needed to start moving. But every walking app he tried felt designed for someone he wasn't: an athlete, a marathoner, someone with a step streak going back to 2019.
So he built the app he needed. Quiet. Patient. Honest about where it meets you.

If you're rebuilding from a low baseline, WalkReady was built for you.
