About this app

Suma is the easy way to split bills and expenses with friends. Trips, a shared house, a big group dinner, whatever. You log what you paid, pick how to split it, and Suma keeps a running tally of who owes who. When the trip's over, it shows the quickest way for everyone to settle up.

It's free to use. No ads, and the features you actually need aren't stuck behind a subscription.

WHAT SUMA DOES WELL

Multi-currency, not paywalled. If you're moving between countries, just add each expense in whatever you paid in. Suma saves the exchange rate from the day you spent it, so the totals still add up when you get home. Nobody argues about whose conversion app was right.

Your balance, right up front. Open a group and the first thing you see is where you stand. Not a wall of rows you have to read through to work it out.

Splits for real situations. Equal, exact amounts, percentages, or shares. For when three of you split a taxi and the fourth one walked.

Settling that makes sense. Instead of everyone paying everyone, Suma works out the fewest payments to square the whole group.

HOW IT WORKS

Make a group for your trip, house, or event.
Add the people and log expenses as they happen. Who paid, and how to split it.
Suma keeps the running total. When you're ready, it shows you exactly who pays who.

GOOD FOR

Trips and holidays, group dinners, festivals, road trips, flatmates and roommates splitting rent and bills, couples sharing costs, or any group that needs to track shared expenses and settle up without the awkwardness.

Basically any time a group is spending money together and someone's going to have to work out the maths later. Might as well not be you.
Split bills with friends, track who owes what, and settle up. Multi-currency

What’s new

Closing a trip no longer hides it if there's still money owed, it
stays in your list, marked Closed, until you settle up.
The Close trip button is easier to find, and the share button now
only says "Share the card" when there's a real card to share.
New: add someone who joined a trip late to the expenses they were
actually part of, without editing each one by hand.
Small sign-in wording cleanup.
