Haaretz Android App Very slow to load and then annoyed by an advert loading on top of it. I won't be renewing my suscrption. There is no point in signing up and getting all those adverts when Ynet is free of charge. Pity as Haaretz is my favourite newspaper in Israel.

Looks nice, content is good and interesting (if sometimes not as deeply researched as it should be to provide more support). The amount of stuff locked up in a subscription is annoying, but I get by alright. The advertisements are a but annoying when, after it takes over the screen, you accidentally click it in trying to close it.
Dumping It! Could not even read one article without being forced to sign up for a 2-Week Trial Subscription, and then pay to read. There are better and free Israel news apps available. Goodbye Haaretz. Hello Arutz 7!

A Jewish app that has a paid subsctiption WITH ads, WOW and I have been tying to defend the Jewish community by saying they arent theifs, obviously the creators of this app are.
Marek Rozenberg
Not worth using Slow, sluggish, the ads are loading fast though :( uninstall.

Horrible news outlet. Very leftist and biased. Not what a news delivery outlet should be. Let people be the judge.

An absolute disgrace. Shameful collection of hate-filled articles and opinions.
New version - Cannot sign in!!! App keeps crashing and restarting while trying to enter my subscription email and password. Help! Also, too many permissions.

Hello Walter,
please send us an email to:
mobile@haaretz.co.il
and we'll try to help you Really terrible app This app is complete awful. It features full screen Google ads whenever it is open, half the stories require subscription and it has annoying pop ups by default. There are some really great news apps out there. This app is the worst I have seen from a direct news source. It's unfortunate that I am forced to remove it and there are no alternative
Great Content Very Poor App Execution The app takes forever to open, then gives you a full screen ad even though you're a paid subscriber. The current version does not let you read the comments. Crazy that an Israeli company cannot to a better app.
Since haaretz changed the forum posts I cannot read them. As a paying subscriber I would expect to be spared the advertisement. Furthermore I cannot search for articles in the app. Last not least, this app requires far too many permissions. What's all that about? ??
Poor Sharing doesn't work. Formatting is sub-standard. It's clear that the publisher doesn't really care, since similar comments were posted 2 years ago. Take a look at WSJ app and just copy it, OK?
Rubbish (even as a subscriber) Slow, buggy, full of distracting ads. The worst app on my phone, by far. As a subscriber, I expect less or no ads, quick access, stability and a decent search function.
No Content? It would be nice to see breaking news when it pops up on my screen. Instead, I keep getting, "No Content" every time I try to read more details to breaking news, or any news for that matter.
Disappointing I have a paid digital subscription, but still have to deal with nonstop commercials. The app refreshes itself poorly, and requires unnecessary permissions. However, Haaretz is one of the best news sources for Israel so I'm keeping it.
big bad ad is gone a fine app, when the headline page isn't covered by an ad you can't close (and that's with paid subscription). The ad is gone again so my rating is back to five stars
Takes forever to load on 60Mbs Wi-Fi. "Opentech" appears clearly not up to the task...App hasnt been updated since 2014 for Gods sake...read Haaretz daily via website. Its beyond my comprehension how this poor an app could last so long without any attempt to fix the obvious
There is no reason to require access to as many things as they are asking for. My privacy is more important than their product. Why do you need call information? Why do you need wifi information? I have NO interest in sharing through social media. Why do access to photo/media/files? Why don't you develop under the newest Android standards so I can set the privileges I want you to get? Why do I now have to upgrade to get any data from you? All I see right now is a data greedy company. Your response only replied to a few of my complaints. The new version is still a security nightmare. Please fix it.

Hi Robert,
We added all the new privileges in order to improve the features in the app.
in-app purchase - enables buying subscription to Haaretz from the app. the app users enjoy 2 weeks of free trial.
identity - enable easy share of articles and photos in major social networks such as Facebook & Twitter Disapointed on paid subscription I can only read Haaretz on my desktop and it still asking me to subscribe, what is going on Haartez? get your act together., but impossible to open articles on my Android. I have sent already three notes asking for help...NO RESPONSE.. Very disappointed. If I do not get satisfaction I will cancel my digital subscription.
Advertisement covering App Advertisement is covering newspaper in App and closeable. And this is paid subscription and logged in. (Great newspaper but App has always been terrible. But now literally unreadable).
Shockingly poor for Israeli technology From the lack of app-wide search, to the failure of its text resizing "feature" (fails in Android 5.1.1), the generally dull execution in terms of layout, fontology, navigation - indeed, the entire aesthetics & ergonomics of the app is an insult to the collective efforts of the editorial staff.
Desperately in need of an update Like Israel itself, this app is awful.
Paid Subscription Problem I can't get the app to recognize the subscription I pay for. I wind up having to go to a web browser anyway. That makes the app useless.
Full of distracting ads, slow to load Its really annoying that the paid subscription is full of ads, ads that blink and are really distracting. The stories are slow to load. This is the worst app that I've paid for.
So very refreshing. Getting news and feature stories from halfway around the world is my way of sidestepping the spoon fed media.
I can't share any article Part of the reason I wanted this app was to share interesting articles on Twitter and WhatsApp. But, it doesn't work. Can somebody fix it?
Conflicted. Brilliant journalism. Criminally incompetent app. I think an "Oy vey" is warranted.
Big ad blocks front page-Impossible to remove So I am dumping the app...
Haartz Terrible app. Can't get it most of the time . I even have a subscription. I am probably going to cancel
Impossible to read properly on my tablet. For a paid subscription that is a disgrace.
First with New Headlines I have several news apps, and whenever any major foreign event occurs, Haaretz is the first to send the headline to my phone. However, most of my alternative news apps are US news organizations, and I cannot speak for the accuracy of the headlines, due to more knowledge being uncovered.
Happy that the world has a voice like that of Haaretz! Clean, fresh layout. Like the ticker on top a lot--its placement is unique but seems more commonsense. Like the sections' easy, neat arrangement, too. Not as modern, trendy as the Guardian app, but just pleasantly friendly :-)
Great content, but bad execution of app Great news cite, with many mechanical problems. Fix them!!!
There's a giant advertisement that's impossible to close that blocks the content. Literally impossible to read the news
Advertisements have gone too far. I'm removing and cancelling my subscription
