About this app

eCBB comes to strengthen and articulate the care of families and health teams in relation to perinatal health. The experiences and care in the first weeks of life, as well as during pregnancy, have a profound impact on health, development and quality of life in the long term. We know that investing in this stage of life is one of the most effective and efficient investments. Likewise, eCBB was designed to contribute to reducing the impact of the pandemic, particularly in the health and care of newborns and especially those prematurely and seriously ill.
The development began with the evaluation of the evidence of the use and results of information and communication technologies to improve neonatal health in general and in order to address health problems or specific interventions.
In the framework of the COVID 19 pandemic, the project takes on special relevance, helping to strengthen access to relevant, sensitive and quality information.
The application was developed considering two user profiles: caregivers and health teams. This allows to orient the contents with specificity and present them according to the needs and particular requirements of each user.
In order to facilitate access to quality information, the information and materials provided come mainly from technical documents of the World Health Organization and Pan American Health Organization, as well as its Virtual Health Library, using a system of indexing that facilitates the search for information by users.
The topics presented, which include information in the form of text, videos, infographics, recommendations, images, news, are grouped around six main categories: breastfeeding, infant care, hygiene, health promotion, growth and development and frequently asked questions. . In addition, it has thematic labels such as vaccines, prematurity, infant, among others. The topics include information of interest to families, caregivers, and health teams on newborn care, the stages and changes that will occur, the needs and signs that require specific care and interventions, as well as common health problems.
The application's search engine allows quick and easy access to content, grouped into categories.
