About this game

CrossCraze is a fun, modern twist on the classic crossword game, designed for players who prefer the challenge of a computer opponent. You can also play offline with a friend. This PRO version is completely ad-free and includes 3 extra board styles.

◆ 10 SKILL LEVELS
CrossCraze's single-player mode lets you choose a computer opponent to match your own strength. Unlike multiplayer online games, the super-smart AI never cheats, never takes more than a moment to think, never abandons a game before the end, and never sends you inappropriate messages. ◆ 2 GAME MODES
Choose from 'Classic' mode, where new letters must link to existing words, and 'Tile Stacking' mode, where new tiles can also be dropped over old ones.

Board sizes range from the standard 15x15 squares up to 21x21 (these larger boards help reduce the first-move advantage for a fairer game).

Don't scrabble in the dark. CrossCraze's unique hint system will find you the best word. Allow yourself as many or as few hints per game as you like. CrossCraze can spell out the full word, or just show you where to look.

CrossCraze's tile editor lets you change the frequency and point-value of any letter.

Automatic rack sorting lets you order your letters alphabetically or split them into vowels and consonants. Alternatively, scramble your rack with a simple double-tap.

I have the paid version--no ads, different board choices. I grew up playing Scrabble; I prefer this game. It has a superior layout and a "stacking" feature that I love. Dev made a complex, multi-faceted game. I've been playing daily since past May. 9-30-20: Motog6 broke... UPDATE: Still enjoying game. Only 1 Dev who doesn't tweak needlessly. I had to update to Android 13, so I lost the original. I've adjusted to this new way, still 💫💫💫💫💫 1-29-2025. Thanks Owen, you still rock it. 🥳

Excellent way to build your vocabulary and strategy skills. Many options for playing against the computer opponent. Can play against another person but only on a single device as this app lacks network capability. Must hand the device back and forth between players.

Edit: Can't believe I've had this for 4 years. It's still fun and challenging. So many ways to tailor to your skills and prefs. NOT a game where you feel cheated by the AI opponent. Board layout variations make for fun challenges. Very happy I opted for the paid version. Might be nice to be able to name the opponent as well.
