CONNECTING CANDIDATES, CAUSES, AND VOTERS
OurVoteToday Inc. is a political utility and research company offering event marketing services and social research tools to Democratic candidates, progressive causes, and the Party. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) mobile app provides candidates, particularly those running down-ballot, a free and easy way to introduce themselves to voters.
The service eases the task of advertising campaign events, obtaining voter evaluations, while providing the Party with a wealth of demographic and political information on candidates at relevant geolocations. The combination of these services is unavailable in the marketplace. OurVoteToday addresses this shortcoming.
Down-ballot candidates are crucial to the Party’s strength and resilience. Nonetheless, convincing someone to run for a local office is difficult, as reflected in the majority of the nation’s down-ballot races between 2020 and 2024 that went uncontested. Winning down-ballot races is crucial to the Party’s long-term success, and the motivation behind the creation of OurVoteToday’s service.
Down-ballot elections shape your schools, your streets, your safety — and most of them happen with no one running against the incumbent. OurVoteToday is changing that with tools to market events, gather feedback, and strengthen networks.
A mobile and desktop platform that makes it easier to run, easier to organize, and easier to win — starting at the races most campaigns ignore.
Know how your events land. Collect real-time voter sentiment so you can adjust your message, your tone, and your priorities — while the campaign is still running.
Cross-tabulated campaign performance data broken down by demographics and political geography. Finally, a tool that tells Party leadership what's actually happening on the ground.
Free for every candidate and cause. Counties are invoiced at 1–3 cents per resident — small counties pay less, large counties more — billed through the county or state Party.
OurVoteToday gives candidates the tools to market events, collect voter feedback, and build a stronger local network — for free.
A platform connecting Democratic candidates, progressive causes, and voters for the down-ballot races that shape daily life in America.
Overview
More than half a million elected offices in the United States are down-ballot races. In most states, the majority of these races go uncontested.
In 2024, 61% of city and 82% of county races were uncontested, with Democrats being the biggest no-shows.
Why it matters:
To the nation: Uncontested races erode accountability, discourage voter participation, and limit the diversity of representation, with incumbents less motivated to deal with constituents, resulting in political extremes shaping policies regarding schools, transit, criminal justice, and healthcare.
To the party: Democratic turnout is depressed city and countywide, opportunities to build the party are being missed, and efforts to push back against partisan challenges are falling short.
Why it happens: In addition to factors such as expensive filing fees and complicated ballot access rules, individuals often hesitate due to the demands of time and money, or may not be well-known in the community, lacking a social network of friends for support.
OurVoteToday boosts down-ballot candidates and Progressive causes statewide.
