About this app

Paddy is a quiet water intake tracker drawn in the visual language of the rice terraces of Ubud, Bali — a hillside cut into stepped fields, each terrace a still pool of jade water held back by a low green dyke. The home screen is that hillside seen in cross-section: a stack of six terrace steps, each inset from the one below like a staircase climbing the slope. As you drink through the day the water floods the terraces from the bottom step upward, and a small dawn-gold sun sits on the top ridge.

The home screen is arranged differently from the usual tracker. The four quick-add vessels are not buried in a grid or a bottom bar — they sit in a TOP ACTION ROW directly under the wordmark, the very first thing your thumb reaches. Each vessel is drawn as its own little terrace tile: a green dyke rim, faint dyke ridges crossing a jade pool, and a water level that shows the vessel's relative size. One tap floods that measure into the terraces.

Below the action row is the TERRACE HERO — the stepped hillside described above — with the running total floating in a calm serif numeral on a soft panel over the water ("1.24 L of 2.00 L"), and a small percent chip beneath it. Below the hero sits a row of three stat chips — STREAK, WEEK AVG, POURS — and then TODAY'S POURS, a vertical list of everything you have poured so far, each row introduced by a small jade water bead and a rice-green rule, with the clock time, the amount, and the vessel name. When the day's goal is met, a quiet green banner crosses below the hero: EVERY TERRACE FLOODED.

Tapping the dyke icon opens FIELDS — the historical view. A 14-day strip at the top shows each day as a tiny terrace tile filling with jade water, brighter on flooded days. Below it is a 30-day list where every day is its own field: a small terrace tile with dyke ridges that fills to that day's proportion of the goal, a FLOODED badge in green when the day reached the brim, the day's total in a calm serif numeral, and the count of pours.

The settings live in GRANARY — the farmhouse store beside the fields. There you can:
- Adjust the daily flood target in 100 ml steps (1.0 L – 4.5 L; or fluid ounces if you prefer)
- Switch units between metric (ml / L) and US fluid ounces
- Re-size each of the four terrace-tile vessels (Sip / Glass / Cup / Bottle)
- Toggle haptic feedback on button taps
- Toggle between Paddy Dusk and a rice-husk day palette

The app remembers up to a year of entries on the device. There is no account, no cloud, no sync — everything you pour lives only on your phone. Records older than a year are pruned to keep the database small. The fields are yours to keep or to drain.

Paddy doesn't nag, doesn't send notifications, doesn't try to gamify hydration. It just gives you a quiet terraced hillside to flood: jade water rising step by step, green dykes holding it in, a streak that grows by being kept, a row of past days with the flooded ones marked in green.

Flood the terraces.
