About this app

Ad block and adblock browsing meet vocabulary learning in Palimpscape. Replace ads with words as you browse, learn rare vocabulary, study a new language, or practise your own word list.
Palimpscape is a web browser that transforms advertising spaces into opportunities to learn. Instead of simply hiding detected ads, it replaces their placements with words selected from your chosen vocabulary.

CHOOSE HOW TO LEARN
• Learn rare words in your native language
• Learn vocabulary in a new language
• Add your own words, descriptions and translations
• Choose from multiple difficulty levels
• Hide words you no longer want to see

LEARN WHILE BROWSING
Words appear naturally in the spaces previously occupied by ads. Their size adapts to each placement, keeping pages readable while making vocabulary visible throughout your normal browsing.
Tap a word to view its available definition. When learning another language, open a translation for the selected word in your preferred language.

A COMPLETE MOBILE BROWSER
• Browse websites using multiple tabs
• Sign in to websites normally
• Navigate with familiar browser controls
• Block advertising network requests
• Replace detected ad placements with vocabulary
• Use regional ad block filter lists based on page and device language

YOUR WORDS, YOUR PROGRESS
Create a personal vocabulary list with an optional definition or translation for every word. Manually added words are shown more frequently, helping you focus on the vocabulary that matters most to you.
Palimpscape tracks how often each word has appeared so that your vocabulary stays varied. If a word is no longer useful, hide it permanently with a single action.
Turn everyday web browsing into language learning. Adblock distractions, replace ads and discover a new word on every page.
