Brilliant experience. However, it would be nice to incorporate an option on mobile to press-hold a link for it to then be added to paperpile. I've noticed that I much go INTO the full page, even if it is to merely save the link and without PDF. Maybe the distinction between link-sharing into paperpile, and entering the site fully for PDF light to be introduced where possible! As for an app like Instapaper, I do not have to enter any site; simply: right-click, share. Grateful for the app tho!

The web version is great, but the Android app is so bad. If you cannot develop a nice app, just allow the users to use the web on their android devices. Currently it forces the users to install the app. I would rather save the webpage as a chrome shortcut on my home screen, than deal with the app. The sync feature is very bad. I find it super irritating. You read a research paper, highlight things on it and close the app, it doesn't save any of the highlighted content! I mean seriously!!!

If I were purely rating based on the web application, I would give 4-5stars. The android app leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest problem is that it just periodically (and consistently) refuses to update with sources that you have added via the web app. I have source articles that I downloaded months ago that simply will not appear in the android app. If you're main use will be on a PC I can't say enough good things about it. It's decent enough, but the sync issue really hurts its usefulness.
