Very buggy - beware Downloaded the app, created an account and used it for parking this morning. When I needed to re-up this afternoon while stuck in meetings, I could not log in to do so. Received "invalid login" errors even though I was putting in the correct credentials. When I tried to reset password, it said that email was not registered. When I tried to re-register my account, it said the email address was already in use. Great. Now I have a parking ticket.
Charges incorrect credit card 1. Charges incorrect credit card if you have multiple on file. 2. Reminders come in if you have more time in an active session. 3. Sometimes reminders do not come when session is close to over. 4. Parkx will offer bribe credits for five stars. 5. Parkx developers don't test their app.
Why waste time walking back to add more time? It's a lot easier knowing that you can pay the parking with the app then wasting time walking all way back and then walking back to where you were.
A nice option I like the ease of the app and the ability to park without pulling out the wallet. A couple things would make it amazing: match up with city's parking meter hours (so no overcharging occurs), and include link parking zone map in app.
Excited first timer turned to crabby user Couple of things that have made me rate this much lower than my initial 5 stars: 1) Keep getting logged out, 2) Received promotional email with code for added funds and it's only for first time users. There's nothing more annoying than spam email and I would rather cancel using the app than having to deal with BS like this.
I loved this app for the first few weeks, until I received a parking ticket even though the app was running (or at least the email from park x stated that the app was running and my meter had been paid). It turns out that when Park X screws up its your fault. According to the FAQ quoted below if they screw up they would like you to handle it with the parking authority "Although this is unlikely to occur, first check your email receipt to make sure the time of your online parking session matches the time the citation was given. ParkX does not issue citations or handle ticket violation disputes in our office. If all the information on your parking payment was correct and your parking session was valid during the time the citation was issued, the best way to dispute the violation is to contact the local parking authority directly." In Other words If they screw up, you have to go to court and fix it not them. Its interesting that they have a good enough relationship with the city to supposedly tell them when you are using a meter, but not a good enough relationship to let the city know when they have issued a ticket in error.
Quick Tip: When you download ParkX, go to the wallet of the application and put in coupon code "PARKX$1" for a free $1 towards your next parking session!
