About this app

ParkinsonPod is music specially composed for Walking. Captivating music with a very clear rhythm. Made in different music genres: marches, pop, pop-rock, and funk as well as a drum groove. Made in 4 tempos: 102, 107, 114, and 120 (indicates how many steps you walk per minute).
From experience, most people can find a suitable walking pace within one of these 4 groups. All numbers start with a count of 1-2-1-2 - here the tempo is set.

The app is updated 1-2 times a year with new music tracks.

The app is very simple to use: Open the App and press the tempo you want to go at.

If you want to listen to the numbers in English, this can be selected.

The research behind: in January 2018, a large international analysis was published which concluded that listening to the rhythm while walking has a very beneficial effect on function: for e.g. the pace and stride length increase, footwork improves, balance improves.

In 9 out of 10, listening to the ParkinsonPod IMMEDIATELY improves time.
After about 3 weeks of walking training for the music - 3-5 times a week for 20-45 minutes - improvement is seen at a time - even when not listening to music.

The app was developed by the people behind the music: physiotherapist Birgitte Brabrand and musician Martin Jantzen.
