About this game

Rattle is a word hunt at a 1950s diner counter.

Shake sixteen letter dice into a chrome tray, then find as many words as you can before the two-minute bell. Words snake across dice that touch, diagonals too, and each die counts once per word.

HOW IT PLAYS
• Drag across the dice and let go to play a word
• Slide back onto the last die to undo it
• Or tap the dice one by one, then tap the last one again
• Shake your phone, or tap Shake, to roll a new tray
• Words need 3 letters or more; longer words score far more

NO DUD TRAYS
Every tray is checked before you see it, so there are always plenty of everyday words to find.

THE BILL
When the bell rings you get the bill: your score, your best word, and every everyday word you missed. Tap any of them to see where it was hiding on the tray.

TODAY'S TRAY
A new daily tray, the same dice for everyone, counted once a day.

PICK YOUR LOOK
• Formica: mint counter, cherry vinyl and chrome
• Neon night: a dark booth lit by the window sign
• Checkerboard: a black-and-white floor and a chrome tray
