I actually disagree with many people. I think this app is great. Again it's not as intuitive or dynamic as other commercial television apps , but I liked it . I have no problem with Chromecast. However, when I'm requested to pay money for "public TV" when I could just as easily DVRs upstairs, that's where I drew the line and drop the app. Don't get me wrong I've supported this nonprofit organization in the past. But the manner they go about doing this is not one that I prefer
Content is excellent. I don't mind paying the $5 monthly contribution to support PBS. The actual app, however, is not that great. The search function is not user friendly and the app doesn't seem to remember what show you were watching last. The shows are organized in such a way that makes discovering new content difficult. I give this app five stars for content and one star for overall design, an average of three. 🤷🏻
This app sucks! PBS has gotten so greedy. "Public Television"?!?! It's not public TV if there is a FORCED donation for every show! If the app is not free then just say that. I highly suggest you don't download the app it's very disappointing!
The PBS content is great. The app leaves much to be desired. It is confusing, muddled and causes much frustration. Inconsistencies, hard to find sequential information and inaccurate account data sometimes prevents paid passport membership viewing.
The content is great. The search UI is clunky, but usable. But the replay performance on a ChromeCast is close to intolerable: the replay stutters up to a few times a minute, and replays the last 5-30 seconds. Disappointing - and frustrating.
I love PBS and wish they would provide a more dependable app. It will crash whenever I get a notification, whether text, email or app update... which happens often. That means It's constantly crashing and needs to repeatedly be restarted. It's so frustrating. I gave a 2 rating only because I love PBS.
