this app doesn't work in all facilities please check your facility before you purchase credits to see what your facility recommends that you use to contact your loved ones it was very slow to find out it didn't work out for us. but we did get a full refund of what we paid it took longer than expected to realize that it was not working out. the first letter bounced around the system for about three weeks before we had it returned. and a second letter was already in process by the time we noticed

I like the app a lot. I was able to find the person I was looking for so easily and we've already sent a couple messages back and forth. I just wish I didn't have to log in so frequently. Leaving Penmate open and navigating to another app usually requires me to log back in when I pull Penmate up again. Sometimes I'm randomly asked to log in again even though I haven't even left the app.

When I first got the app, it said if there's any reason that it can't be emailed, it will be printed out and snail mailed. I *thought* that would be rare. Now every $10 message is being snail mailed 800 miles on what I have to assume to be the back of a poor battered pack mule. I contacted support and they told me most likely the inmate's email privileges are paused. But I get email from him via Penmate just fine. But my replies are sent to their HP printer and strapped to the back of the mule.
