I like the app a lot. I was able to find the person I was looking for so easily and we've already sent a couple messages back and forth. I just wish I didn't have to log in so frequently. Leaving Penmate open and navigating to another app usually requires me to log back in when I pull Penmate up again. Sometimes I'm randomly asked to log in again even though I haven't even left the app.

Hello, yes this is the best thing I have come to keeping in touch with my Son. I appreciate TDCJ SO MUCH for coming up with this benefit for the inmate. if course, pending security level. But is rewarding for those inmate who reform in all efforts and accomplishing well recognized by TDCJ.This email benefit is great because sometimes you need to talk to your loved one long before they call again. With Pennmate you don't have to wait. Thank you so much, I am very grateful for this feature benefit

This app is very prone to create charges that are some how twice as much as should be , without explanation, and I have repeatedly spent hours typing a message to have it suddenly disappear from existence. All in all if I was you I would look for an alternative to use for contacting loved ones who may be incarcerated.
