About this app

Know what is wrong with your crop — and what to do about it.

PlantArmor helps Jamaican farmers identify pests and diseases, plan spraying safely, track what every input costs, and keep the records buyers ask for. It works offline in the field, and it is free.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Identify the problem. Match what you are seeing against a reference library of pests, diseases and disorders described in Jamaican growing conditions — with the symptoms to look for and what to do about each one.

• Plan your spraying. Build a spray schedule that respects re-entry periods and pre-harvest intervals, so your produce stays safe and saleable.

• Know your costs. Track spending on fertiliser, chemicals and labour against what each plot actually yields, so you know which crops are paying.

• Keep your records. Produce the spray and traceability records buyers, exporters and extension officers ask for, without the paperwork.

• Work offline. Your plots may have no signal. The reference library and your farm records work without a connection and sync when you are back in coverage.

• Read your soil. Pair a Bluetooth soil sensor to log pH, moisture and nutrient readings straight into the plot record, instead of writing them on a scrap of paper.

• Use it in the field. Large touch targets and high-contrast screens, designed to be used standing in a field with gloves on.

CROPS COVERED

Scotch bonnet pepper, sweet pepper, tomato, callaloo, pak choi and other leafy vegetables, cabbage, broccoli, carrot, cucumber, watermelon, onion, escallion, thyme, ginger, yam, sweet potato, Irish potato, corn, papaya, pineapple and coffee. More incoming with each update.

BUILT FOR JAMAICAN CONDITIONS

Most farming apps assume a temperate season: a spring planting, a summer of growth, a frost that ends the pest year. None of that describes Jamaica. Pest generations run continuously here, the wet season drives disease pressure that northern guidance never accounts for, and the products on the local market are not the ones a US or European app will recommend.

PlantArmor is built around what is actually grown here and what is actually available here, including products from Jamaican suppliers, with guidance that matches local crop calendars.

FREE CROP GUIDES

Free pest and disease guides for every crop above are available at plantarmor.app/guides — no sign-in needed.

Always read the product label and observe the registered rate, re-entry period and pre-harvest interval for any pesticide before you apply it.
