You're in a café you've never been to, reading a menu of eleven drinks. Sip tells you which one to order, and why.

Photograph the coffee menu. Every drink on it comes back ranked for your taste, with the flavors it matched and the one thing that might put you off. It works at any café, even one nobody has reviewed.

• Each pick says why, so you can disagree with it

Four or five drinks is enough for the recommendations to start sounding like you.

A COFFEE DIARY THAT LEARNS

Every drink you log goes into a coffee journal with the café and the day. The diary isn't a scrapbook. It's what your drink recommendations are built from, so the more you log, the sharper the picks get. No menu in front of you? Type any drink and log it in seconds.

YOUR TASTE PROFILE

Sip reads your diary back as a flavor wheel: sweet, nutty, creamy, roasty, fruity, floral, spiced, cocoa and more. You see what you actually like, not what you say you like.

WORKS WITH ANY DRINK ON THE BOARD

Espresso, flat white, cortado, latte, cappuccino, americano, macchiato, mocha, iced coffee, cold brew, pour-over, chai, matcha latte, London fog, hot chocolate. Oat, almond, soy or whole milk. Iced or hot.

YOUR TASTE STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

Ranking, logging, your diary and your taste profile are computed on your device and work without an account. We can't see what you drink.

Menu photos are the one exception: a photo is sent to be read, the text comes back, and the image is not kept.
