About this app

Write one sentence or a full page about your day.

Micro Journal is a private daily journal with autosave, moods, themes, a searchable calendar, and on-device insights. Your journal stays on your phone. There is no account, no social feed, no ads, and no behavioral analytics.

WHY MICRO JOURNAL

• One entry for every calendar day, with no length to live up to
• An optional mood on each entry: bright, good, even, low, or hard
• Optional themes such as Family, Rest, Work, Health, or Growth
• Saves itself while you write and when you leave the editor
• Search the whole journal, filter by mood or theme, and mark favorites
• Write a past day straight from the calendar
• Writing prompts for when the page is blank
• Light and dark appearance that follows your device
• No streaks, no scores, no ads, and no guilt

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your entries never leave the phone. Writing and reading work offline, insights are calculated on the device, and Micro Journal has no journal server to upload anything to. You can lock the app with your fingerprint, your face, or your PIN, keep a JSON backup you control, and erase everything from inside the app.

MICRO JOURNAL PLUS

Plus adds weekly summaries and week-over-week comparisons, mood and theme counts, entries from this day in past years, the complete prompt library, more app colors, and full-journal export as plain text or Markdown.

Plus is an optional subscription. If you already bought the lifetime export unlock, it still unlocks Plus and always will.

Writing, back-dated entries, moods, themes, the calendar, search, and favorites stay free, with no entry limit.

Write today. Find it later.

What’s new

One fix.

In dark mode the Appearance dialog drew its options in a colour meant to sit behind text, so they were almost invisible on the dark card. They are readable now, and so is Cancel.

Nothing else has changed, except when the single request for a rating appears.
