Review from Richard Bakker
App works fine, but lacks some functionalities. Would be nice to see app shortcuts to favorite scene. Would also be nice if it was possible to link multiple rooms together.
Failing to show my formulas now via app! Works well, great with Alexa, but interface could be made smaller, ie I've now got 9 rooms hued up but the main screen will only show 6 and I have to scroll to see the other 3, it would be much better if they were all visible on the one screen. Also scene selection, why so big? Also we need the ability for custom scenes to be copied/synced over all profiles. Also need to be able to set routines for individual bulbs not just rooms!
It functions....somewhat. Totally unreliable. Even when connected to wifi..."hue is unavailable". The geo location is a joke. It NEVER functions to turn on the lights when I arrive (the IFTT app is more reliable). Standing in my driveway with a strong wifi signal I could not control lights i was looking at. Great app if we were in the 1970s...would have expected reliability from what is advertised as the best. May want to research other lighting systems. Least it works 90% of the time using google home.
I love my lights and the entertainment is a huge step for the app, but it would be best to have the app perform as an all in one unit. Third party apps for party/disco lights is not the best. Also, after the update there has been an error regarding the controlling device not being connected to the internet, even when it is (not affecting all app features i.e turning lights on/off and changing color).
The app is very user friendly. However I can't seem to access the Hue Labs anymore from within the app. It tells me that no formulas exist yet. Also can't manage my existing formulas. When I access Hue Labs from the browser then I all is working perfectly. It seems to be broken within the Hue app. I really hope this will be fixed soon or it you have a solution for me. As now I can't toggle on formulas from within the app.
buggy. turns light on and off, yet says unreachable. after reinstalling and reinitializing, works for a while, but soon lamps forget how they are reachable. expected more from a technology giant like phillips. my dad's old electric razor still works though. perhaps phillips is not ready
V1 was miles better. This app is garbage. The inability to group lights while moving is probably the biggest loss. Making scenes with lots of lights is super slow in comparison to the 1st gen controller. It connects fine and the timer functions are accurate, so its not like it's totally unusable. But the user nterface needs some love IMHO.
