TWO POWERFUL SCAN MODES

• Exact Scan — Finds byte-perfect duplicates using file size and content fingerprinting. Lightning fast and highly accurate.
• Similar Scan — Uses perceptual hashing and visual analysis to detect near-duplicate photos: burst shots, resized copies, screenshots, and edited versions of the same image.

SIMILARITY THRESHOLD CONTROL

Adjust the sensitivity slider from Strict to Broad before scanning:
• People & photos: try 8–9 for broader matching
• Screenshots & documents: try 4–5 for tighter matching

SMART SELECTION & DELETION
• Select Duplicates — choose a rule to auto-select which copies to remove:
– Keep Oldest / Keep Newest
– Keep Largest / Keep Smallest
• Manually tap any photo to select or deselect
• Deselect All in one tap
• Delete selected photos — Android confirmation dialog keeps you safe
• Individual photo deletion from the full-screen preview
• Groups with only one photo remaining are automatically hidden — no accidental loss of your last copy

RESULTS & HISTORY
• Scan results persist between sessions — come back later and continue where you left off
• Actions History in Settings — tracks every deletion: photo count, total size freed, and date/time
• Clear scan results or actions history independently from Settings

PictureEcho requests access to your photos only to scan and delete duplicates. No photos are uploaded or shared. Everything stays on your device.
