PixelShrink resizes and compresses images in a couple of taps - and it does it without a launch ad and without asking for permission to your photo library.
WHY THIS APP IS DIFFERENT
- No ad when you open it. The work screen is the first thing you see. Most resizers in this category greet you with a full-screen ad; this one does not.
- No storage permission. Ever. PixelShrink uses the Android Photo Picker, so you hand it the specific photos you choose and nothing else. The app cannot browse your gallery, because it was never given the ability to.
- Nothing is uploaded. All processing happens on your device. Your photos never touch a server, because there is no server.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Resize with one tap using presets: 1080p, 720p, 50%, or 25%
- Set an exact width and height, with optional aspect-ratio lock
- Compress to a target file size - say 500 KB and it works out the quality
- Adjust JPEG quality by hand when you want direct control
- Process a whole batch of photos in a single run
- See exactly how much space you saved, per photo and in total
WHO IT IS FOR
- Emailing or messaging photos that are too large to send
- Uploading to sites with a file size cap
- Freeing up storage without deleting anything
- Preparing images for listings, forms, and applications
- Anyone told your file is too big one time too many
HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap Choose Photos and pick what you want
2. Choose a size preset, exact dimensions, or a target file size
3. Tap Shrink
Results are saved to Pictures/PixelShrink. Your originals are never modified, moved, or deleted.
HONEST NOTES
PixelShrink is ad-supported, but the ad rules are strict and they are built into the app rather than left as settings:
- No ad on launch, ever.
- The banner appears only on the results screen - never while you are picking or processing photos.
- A full-screen ad can appear only after you have processed several photos, and only if it was already loaded. If it is not ready, it is skipped rather than making you wait.
An optional ad removal is available inside the app for anyone who prefers a quieter screen.
The app requests only internet access, which is used for ads. It declares no storage, camera, location, or contacts permissions.
