Update: Several updates later, I'm disappointed to see that the poly grid still doesn't have any kind of view controls. Working with just the tiny sixteenth note boxes is just uncomfortable and ought to be an easy fix. There are a few missing features that the grid sequencer desperately needs- the ability to zoom in and out, as well as copy and paste. Without these, working with the sequencer is needlessly awkward and slow.
Great app, I've always been a fan of drum machine style music production. This does so much more! Its moderately easy to learn as long as you watch the intro video tutorial.
awesome, one of the best electronic music apps on android...using it alongside sunvox. sampled some nanoloop into the drum machine part, VA beast is good for fat bass..but its nice for leads and pads as well ...all round awesome app.
Update: Thanks for the prompt responses, dev! This app is well worth the price. One suggestion I hope you'll consider: The Sample Pads view would be so much better if the pad's sizing were dependent on the number of samples a user specifies in setup. So, if i choose 24, it would display as it does currently, but if I choose 12 the view would resize, showing only the active pads, thus each pad would be bigger. Or let us choose "Rows x Columns" count, with a scroll button to cycle thru.
Thank you for telling me how to solve my problem. This app deserves more than 5 stars IMHO. Buy this software! It's awesome! ^.^
After 4 months with this app I'm convinced it's the best available on Android for my workflow. The GUI is intuitive after a short learning curve and the control I have over everything is expansive yet not overwhelming. Having only started using DAWs this year I'm at a point now with this app that it can do everything I can dream up and more. One of the draw-backs (and this is down to personal preference) is the pattern-based work flow isn't the ideal way for me to plan and organize a piece of work. There is a lot of flexibility within each pattern to create crazy time signatures (which is a huge plus compared to the competition) but I need to visualize a song as a whole to really get it structured properly. There are other apps out there which are organized differently (FL Studio for example) and I prefer that setup but I always come back to G-Stomper because it's just so much more flexible and awesome in every other way that I'm learning to work around my personal preferences. If you want to compose music with a great DAW on android this is the app to get.
