Clef turns the piano you already own into the thing that checks your playing.
Connect a digital piano over USB, open a piece, and the sheet music responds
to your hands. Correct notes turn green. Wrong notes appear as red markers at
the exact spot in the score.

WHAT YOU NEED
Clef reads the keys you press over MIDI, not a microphone, so it knows exactly
what you played. You need a digital piano or keyboard with a MIDI connection,
and a USB cable to your phone or tablet. Acoustic pianos are not supported.

LEARN A PIECE AND KEEP IT
You learn one bar at a time. Play it once with the music in front of you, then
Clef hides that bar and asks you to play it back from memory. By the end of
your first session you can play the opening bars without looking. Every few
bars, Clef has you play the whole stretch from memory in one go. Each run
overlaps the last, so the bars weld together instead of staying separate
fragments. Then Clef re-tests each bar right before you would forget it, so
what you learned last month is still under your fingers today.

PRACTICE THE WAY YOU ALREADY DO
Tap any bar in the score to start from there.
Bars you keep missing become spot work. Clef marks them on the piece map and
drills the passage until you play it clean twice, then once back in context.
Use the built-in metronome and raise your working tempo when runs come out
clean.
Trills, turns and mordents are graded note for note, not skipped over.
A beginner view writes every sharp and flat on the note itself, so you never
have to hold the key signature in your head.
Clef remembers the fastest tempo at which you have played each bar cleanly,
and shows you which bars are holding the piece back.

A CATALOG ENGRAVED BY HAND
Every piece in Clef is engraved and checked by hand rather than converted in
bulk, so the sheet music you practice from is the notation you would buy. The
catalog is small and growing. You cannot bring your own sheet music yet, but
you can request the pieces you want.
