About this game

Children of Morta is a story-driven action RPG with a roguelite approach to character development, in which you don’t play a single character but a whole, extraordinary family of heroes.

Hack’n’slash through hordes of enemies in procedurally generated dungeons, caves and lands and lead the Bergson family, with all their flaws and virtues, against the forthcoming Corruption. The story takes place in a distant land but copes with themes and emotions common to all of us: love and hope, longing and uncertainty, ultimately loss... and sacrifice we are willing to make to save the ones we care the most for.
Ultimately, it's about a family of heroes standing together against the encroaching darkness.

Ratings and reviews

Really fun port. This game is a blast! It is TOTALLY worth the money I paid for it, especially since for a (ported) game on my phone. Gameplay is awesome, story is amazing, and the replayability is high. A few gripes I have however are: the controls (the aiming can be wonky) especially for the ping mini-game which RARELY work for me. There is also a loading lag a lot of the time. There's no save/pause game feature for when you have to leave the app mid-game, it just kicks you out of the run.

Beautiful game, poorly optimized controls for mobile. While I'm sure after a while you can get used to the controls and figure out a way to make it work, the directional attack is a small virtual joystick that frequently attacks in the wrong direction at first. If they made it an 8 way virtual D-pad or tapping to attack in the direction you're moving, that'd be head and shoulders above their current scheme.

Great game, but be prepared for frustration. If you change to a different app to check a text, there is a 25% chance the game will restart and lose any progress you've made on a run. The same goes for putting your phone in your pocket. Don't start a run unless you have time to see it through to the end. EDIT: sorry dev, not accurate. I swipe to a text then back to the game and it restarts and every upgrade, gold, and xp I earned on the run is gone.
