๐ Meet Play Task
Play Task is a native Android task planner built around the Eisenhower matrix. Every task is sorted into one of four quadrants based on urgency and importance, so you can see what to handle now, what to schedule, what to deprioritize, and what to remove from your list.
Play Task is made for clear daily planning without unnecessary complexity. Open the app, review your priorities, and organize work in a structure that is easy to understand.
โ
Home dashboard
The Play Task home screen shows a quick overview of your workload:
โข Active tasks still open โข Items due today โข Overdue items that need attention โข A streak counter for consecutive days with completed tasks
The Focus now section lists up to three active tasks from the Do First quadrant, sorted by due date. Tap a focus item to open the editor. From home you can create a new task or open the matrix board, all tasks list, insights screen, or the built-in guide.
๐ฏ Eisenhower matrix board
The matrix board is a core part of Play Task. The screen is divided into four color-coded quadrants:
๐ต Do First โ urgent and important ๐ข Schedule โ important, not urgent ๐ก Delegate โ urgent, not important ๐ด Eliminate โ neither urgent nor important
Each task appears as a card with its title, tag, and due date. Drag a card between quadrants to update urgency and importance. Tap a card to edit it. Tap a quadrant to create a task preset for that category. Use Hide done or Show done to control whether completed tasks appear on the board.
๐ Task editor
Play Task lets you create and edit tasks with practical detail:
โข Title and notes โข Optional due date with date picker and clear date action โข Tags: Work, Personal, Health, Learning, Home, Other โข Urgent and Important switches that define the quadrant โข Live quadrant label preview while editing โข Checklist subtasks with check, uncheck, add, and remove โข Mark done or reopen on saved tasks โข Delete when a task is no longer needed
The editor helps you keep each item structured before it appears on the matrix or in your task list.
๐ All tasks, search, and filters
The task list in Play Task supports fast browsing:
โข Search by title, notes, or tag โข Filters: All, Active, Today, Overdue, Done โข Quadrant filters: Do First, Schedule, Delegate, Eliminate
Mark a task complete from the list checkbox, or tap a row to edit. If a filter returns no results, Play Task shows a clear empty state message.
๐ Insights
The insights screen in Play Task summarizes your activity:
โข Total tasks โข Still open tasks โข Completed tasks โข Completion rate percentage โข Active task distribution across quadrants โข Tasks completed during the last seven days
Charts help you notice imbalance in one quadrant and track recent completion activity over the week.
๐ Built-in guide
Play Task includes a guide that explains the Eisenhower method in plain English. It describes all four quadrants with examples and shows how to create tasks, drag cards on the matrix, use checklists, set due dates, and read insights.
๐พ Local storage and starter tasks
Tasks in Play Tasks are stored locally on your device. Your list, streak, and board display preferences persist between sessions. On first launch, sample tasks help you explore the matrix, filters, editor, and insights before adding your own items.
๐จ Interface
Play Task uses a dark theme with high-contrast text, large buttons, and a vertical mobile layout. Screens include home, matrix board, task list, editor, insights, and guide. Navigation is simple with back buttons and direct actions on each screen.
๐งญ Who it helps
Play Task suits students, professionals, and anyone balancing work and personal responsibilities. If your to-do list feels crowded, Play Task adds a practical priority framework through the Eisenhower matrix.
