PRIVACY
ChowScan is privacy-first by default:
- No account, no email, no sign-up required
- OCR runs on-device — your photos never leave your phone
- No advertising, no third-party trackers, no cross-app tracking
- Delete every byte of your data from inside the app at any time
METHODOLOGY
The score is deterministic. Every ingredient is graded against a curated dictionary that we publish in-app. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored brands, or referral commissions. We do not score brands — we score ingredients.
DATA
Some product data comes from Open Pet Food Facts contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL); recall data is sourced from the U.S. FDA. Both are credited inside the app.
ChowScan is an informational tool, not a veterinary service. Always consult your vet.
