About this app

Vichaar gives you and the people you choose a real question worth answering — every day. You talk it through in private. Then the thinking, not your name, goes up on a public wall.

Online conversation has split into two rooms. The group chat is where people actually say what they think, but nothing there travels. The public timeline travels, but a permanent name on every half-formed thought makes honesty expensive. Vichaar puts the depth and the reach in the right order.

A QUESTION WORTH ANSWERING
Each of your connections gets its own prompt each day, drawn from something that actually happened this week and matched to the interests you and that person share. Every grounded prompt carries a short brief — enough context to answer without reading the article — and a link to its source. Set the pace per person: daily, weekly, fortnightly, or paused. Skip the duds and rate the good ones; the engine learns. A prompt always arrives.

TALK IT THROUGH, PRIVATELY
Invitation-only. Nobody can start a thread with you unless you accepted their connect request — there is no inbox from strangers. Threads are real-time and stay open after everyone has answered, so the good ones keep going. Edit or delete your own messages. Start a thread yourself on any topic, one-to-one or with a small group, and groups pick up a new topic each day with several threads running at once.

THEN THE IDEA GOES PUBLIC. ALONE.
Once everyone has answered, each person’s contribution is published on the wall as an anonymous response. Your name is not on it and never will be. Like, Dislike or reply to any take — replies are anonymous too, and reactions are blind: nobody can see who liked what, including you. Browse by topic, or read the weekly Spotlight.

This is not an anonymous app. Your conversations are named, with people who know exactly who you are. It is the published idea that is anonymous — identity is stripped after an accountable conversation, never offered instead of one.

JUDGED ON THE IDEA, NOT THE IDENTITY
Two numbers, kept apart on purpose. Social Score rises only when people on the wall endorse your ideas — not from posting, not from streaks, not from showing up — and dislikes don’t lower it. It breaks down per topic. Momentum is the separate participation number, walled off so it can never contaminate the first. The scoring rules are published in the app.

STREAKS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
A streak isn’t a login counter — it’s a conversation that is still alive, with at least one message from everyone, every day. Milestones as it grows, and free Streak Shields to protect one when life gets in the way. Pausing a connection genuinely pauses: the streak freezes where it was.

YOUR OWN SPACE
Post text, a photo, a poll or a passing thought — signed by default, anonymous if you choose. Share a 24-hour story. Follow interests as hashtags, discover people, and invite the friends you actually argue with.

BUILT FOR ADULTS, BUILT CAREFULLY
Vichaar is 18+. Optional selfie verification, block and report everywhere, and automatic action when several different people report the same thing. Images are checked before they are stored. Photos live in private storage behind short-lived links. Sign in with your phone number — we never ask for an email address.

FREE
All of it. No subscriptions, no paywall, nothing to buy.

Vichaar — विचार — is Hindi for thought. The considered kind, arrived at by talking it through with someone who will push back.
Real conversations with your people. The ideas go public, your name doesn’t.
