Time blocking is an effective strategy for using time wisely and achieving greater results. Blocking out time for specific activities allows you to focus on one task at a time, limit distractions and procrastination.


It's really simple to use:


1. Define your tasks at hand, make a task list.

2. Define a block of time during which you will eliminate all distractions and give all your focus to your tasks. Start the timer and work.

3. Take frequent breaks. Regular breaks are conducive to greater productivity and concentration. During these breaks take a breath of fresh air, do some push-ups, stretch or anything else that helps you to restore your power. Your body will thank you.

4. Repeat this work/break cycle and take a longer breaks when you feel you need to.

Ratings and reviews

This app is great, except that... it doesn't reliably work. Which, for an app whose one job it is to keep time, essentially means it doesn't work at all. Pomodoros don't always end when they should, instead going into negative time for some unknown reason. The bell for the end of a break may or may not happen. I kept thinking I had just not heard it somehow, but then sometimes the end-of-break bell will go off MUCH later (like an hour later, out of nowhere). Cute design, but not functional.

This app is really good, it is minimalist (good for distraction as there is nothing distracting about the app), it works well and is pretty customizable for a pomodoro timer. there are also no ads whatsoever, which is a great bonus (I know it's a timer so it shouldn't have any, but the fact that it doesn't have still ads anywhere on screen or an ad before you enter is nice to me). all in all, great app, at most I would like if it would ring when my phone is off (not powered down, just off).

I mostly like this app, but I really, really wish there were more alarm options besides a single bell. I'm a writer and get super focused in when I'm working, so I often tune out a single bell or the regular notification sound when I'm working and don't know the timer has gone off. With most timers I need it go off several times to break my focus, and there's not that option. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to set a different notification sound through my phone that will work for me.
