About this app

Pookie is an app for couples, built so the two of you have somewhere that belongs only to you. You raise a pet together, send each other notes and doodles that land straight on the home screen, play games across two phones, and build up a record of your relationship that nobody else gets to see. Whether you fall asleep in the same bed or a few time zones apart, it gives you a reason to check in on each other every day.


RAISE A PET TOGETHER
You start with an egg, hatch it and name it between you, choosing from twelve pets that include dogs, cats, pandas, penguins, capybaras and a dragon. Keeping it fed, watered and played with is a shared job, and the small care games you do it through change every time so it never turns into a chore.

GROW A PLANT
Alongside the pet there is a plant that begins as a seedling and only thrives if you both remember it. Pick a monstera, cactus, aloe, sunflower, lily or bush, and put it in whichever pot suits the two of you.

PLAY TOGETHER FROM ANYWHERE
Fourteen games made for two, from Draw Something and Ludo through to Snakes and Ladders, Pool, Battleships, Connect 4 and Wavelength, all played at your own pace across two phones rather than crowded round one. There is a fresh daily challenge every morning as well, and the pair of you keep score.

NOTES, DOODLES AND MOODS
Write your partner a note or draw them something daft, and it turns up on their home screen without them having to open anything. You can share how you are feeling whenever the mood takes you, and they can answer it, so the small stuff that usually goes unsaid has somewhere to go.

WIDGETS THAT KEEP THEM CLOSE
Ten home screen widgets, covering their latest doodle, their mood, your pet and plant, how many days you have been together, their local time, the distance between you, your streak, what is coming up and your horoscope for the day.

A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING ELSE
There is a photo vault behind a passcode that only you two can open, and a journal where you can write entries, attach photos and pin where you were, until the map fills up with everywhere you have been together.

QUESTIONS AND CHECK-INS
More than 10,000 questions ranging from gentle to spicy, plus daily and monthly check-ins that you each answer on your own before comparing what the other one said.

LEVELS, STREAKS AND HEARTS
Everything you do together earns XP, so caring for the pet, sending a note or answering a question all move you up. Levelling up pays out hearts, which you spend on new pets, plants, pots, beds and backgrounds.

One subscription covers both of you, so your partner gets everything free. It adds all 10,000+ questions, online games, the shared whiteboard, your daily couples horoscope, exclusive pets and plants, every widget and double XP on everything you do.

Hearts come from levelling up and daily rewards, and you can buy them separately if you would rather unlock things sooner.

Whatever happens inside Pookie stays between you and your partner. There are no ads and nothing is sold on.
