About this app

Trace Read opens OTDR trace files on your phone and tells you what they say in plain words.

• Length to the end of the fibre, in feet or metres
• Events along the link: splices, connectors, bends and the end
• Fibre attenuation in dB/km, with a note on whether it is normal for the wavelength
• Launch cord handling: enter the cord length and distances start at the end of the cord
• Warnings when a reading looks wrong, such as an end of fibre that may be an echo
• Power meter results read as a pass/fail table

Works with Telcordia SR-4731 (.sor, Bellcore) files from most OTDRs.

Private by design: files are read on your phone and are never uploaded. No account, no ads, no tracking. Works offline.

Trace Read is an aid for reading traces. Your instrument's own report remains the record of the test.

Free. Trace Read Pro is coming soon: a both-directions view, PDF reports with your job and logo, and whole-folder summaries.
Read OTDR .sor traces on your phone: length, loss and events, offline.
