About this app

SimpleTrack is a private, self-hosted family location tracking app.
Unlike commercial trackers, SimpleTrack sends your location data only
to your own server — no third-party cloud, no subscription, no ads.

FEATURES
- Live map — see all family members on an interactive map with real-time
location, battery level, activity, and last-seen time
- Location history — view track lines and stop points for any family
member over the past 7 days
- SOS alerts — send an immediate alert to all family members with one
tap. Alerts trigger a loud alarm and heads-up notification even when
the app is in the background
- Crash detection — automatically detects sudden impacts and alerts the
group. Includes an "I'm OK" confirmation to clear the alert
- Reverse geocoding — see street addresses instead of coordinates
- Smart tracking — automatically adjusts update frequency based on
whether you're moving or stationary, saving battery
- Outlier filtering — GPS glitches are automatically detected and
excluded from your track history

REQUIREMENTS

SimpleTrack requires a self-hosted PHP/MySQL server running the
SimpleTrack server component. This app will not function without a
compatible server. See the project documentation for setup instructions.

PRIVACY

All location data is sent exclusively to your own server. Others, the app developer, and Google have no access to your location data.
No analytics, no tracking, no ads.

PERMISSIONS

- Location (foreground and background) — required for continuous tracking
- Activity recognition — used to adjust update frequency based on movement
- Internet — required to communicate with your server
- Notifications — used for SOS and crash alerts
