Irriman is an application that helps you to plan the irrigations of your crops maximizing the yield of the water that you have available.
Irriman is a result of Project LIFE13 ENV / ES / 000539 funded by Europa LIFE and promoted by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. The main objective of the Irriman Life + project is to implement, demonstrate and disseminate a sustainable irrigation strategy based on deficit irrigation to promote its large-scale acceptance and use in crops in Mediterranean agroecosystems, characterized by water scarcity, without affect the quality standards required by export markets.
The project is co-financed by the Life + program of the European Union and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), the Ministry of Agriculture of Murcia, the University of Córdoba (UCO), the Community of Regantes Genil-Cabra and the Federation of Communities of Irrigators of the Mediterranean (Fenacore).
The Irriman project will implement a smart and automated irrigation on a large scale that will save water and energy, contributing to combat climate change and increase the sustainability of irrigated agriculture. The objective is to test this irrigation system on some 15,000 hectares. The researchers calculate a saving of 30% in both water inputs and fertilizers.
This application has been developed by Pristálica.
