About this app

Point your camera at a QR code or a barcode and the result is on screen before you could have pressed a button. No shutter, no waiting, no sign-up.

Everything is recognised on your device, so the app keeps working on a plane, in a warehouse basement, or anywhere else the signal drops.

SCAN THE WAY THAT SUITS YOU
• Live camera - codes are picked up automatically and highlighted with a green frame.
• From a photo - choose any picture from your gallery, crop in on the code, then tap the green box to open the result.
• Several codes in one shot - tap the one you want, or let the app take the one nearest the middle of the screen.

EVERY COMMON FORMAT
QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar and ITF.

ONE TAP AFTER THE SCAN
The app understands what it has just read and offers the action that actually makes sense:
• Website - open it in your browser
• Wi-Fi - join the network
• Contact card - save it to your contacts
• Calendar event - add it to your calendar
• Location - open it in your maps app
• Phone number - call it
• SMS - open a message ready to send
• Email address - start a new mail
• Product and ISBN - search Google or Amazon on your own country's storefront, not always the US one
• Plain text - copy it or share it anywhere

MAKE YOUR OWN CODES
Create QR turns whatever you type into a code you can show, print or send:
• Text, a website link, a phone number or a place on the map
• A Wi-Fi network - guests join by pointing a camera at your screen, with nobody reading a password out loud
• An email or a text message, written and ready to go
• A contact card or a calendar event, in the formats every scanner understands
Share the finished code straight into another app, or save it to your gallery.

NOTHING GETS LOST
Every code you open is remembered, newest first. The ticket you scanned this morning is one tap away, and it opens the same screen with the same actions - instantly, and with no connection needed. Delete a single entry, clear the whole list, or switch the history off in Settings.

Switch between the tidy Display view and the exact Raw value of the code, copy either one with a single tap, or share the result straight into another app.

PRIVACY
Scanning happens on your device. The camera is used to read codes and for nothing else, and your results are never uploaded anywhere. Your history stays on the phone as well: it is never sent anywhere, and it is deliberately left out of cloud backups, because a saved Wi-Fi code carries the password in plain text. The app is free and carries one small banner ad; your privacy choices are asked for before any ad is loaded.

Something not working, or an idea for the next version? Settings > Send feedback opens a mail draft straight to the developer.

What’s new

• New: scan history - every code you open is kept, newest first. Tap one to open it again instantly, offline, with every action intact.
• New: create your own QR codes - text, links, Wi-Fi, contacts, calendar events and more. Share it or save it to your gallery.
• Settings > Save scan history turns recording off without deleting what is there.
• Fixed a crash on SMS results, and a map action on events with no location.
• Dark mode: toolbar menus are readable again.
