Track your steps, build your average, and climb leaderboards against your friends, your city, your country, and the world. GFN isn't just a pedometer — it's a walking challenge platform built around one question: how consistently do you walk?

GFN tracks your Average Daily Steps (ADS) — a rolling 14-day average that defines your rank across every leaderboard. Unlike daily step counters that reward one good day, ADS rewards your walking lifestyle. One hike doesn't shoot you to the top. Consistent daily walking does.

Sync once with Google Health Connect and your steps flow in automatically. No manual logging. No wearable required.

GFN stacks five leaderboards, each with a different competitive feel:

- Friends — Compete with people you've mutually added. Every person on this list chose to walk against you.
- Club — Join or create a group around any shared identity: a workplace, a college batch, a neighbourhood, a running community.
- City — See where you rank among every walker in your city.
- Country — Your steps contribute to a national average. Pull your country up.
- Global — Every GFN user. One leaderboard.

Your ADS places you in a tier — from Pacer to Legendary. Tiers update automatically as your average shifts. Climb from Silver to Gold to Platinum to Athlete as your walking habit strengthens. Every tier change is earned gradually, not won in a single day.

——— CITY ACTIVATION ———

Cities go live through a founding event — not just a headcount. When your city activates, the first 20 members become Founding Members permanently listed in that city's profile. The person who triggers activation becomes City Founder — a badge that lives on their profile forever. There will never be a second City Founder for your city.

Until your city activates, you see a live progress bar and a challenge to bring it online. The wait is a collective mission.

Every country with enough active walkers competes in the Nations League — a 6-month season where national average ADS determines the standings. The top 10 countries qualify for the Champions League. Your personal ADS directly moves your country's score. You can see exactly how many steps above or below your national average you are walking.
