NullFile helps you reduce recoverable traces after deleting sensitive files.
Deleting a file often removes its index entry, not every old block. NullFile gives you two focused tools:
- Secure file erase: select one or more files, overwrite them with your chosen profile, then delete them.
- Free-space wipe: create or reuse Download/NullFileWipe, fill shared storage free space with temporary wipe files, then clean those files.
Choose from practical overwrite profiles:
- Quick zero fill
- Inverse fill
- Strong random
- NIST clear style
- Short DoD, HMG, and NAVSO variants
- Schneier and RCMP style
- Gutmann legacy
Why use NullFile:
- Reduce the chance of recovering previously deleted files from shared storage
- Wipe free space without manually choosing a folder
- Keep erase actions local and user-started
- Follow realistic progress with percentage and pass details
- Use a focused interface built for privacy cleanup
Important Android limits:
No file-wipe app can promise absolute physical erasure on every device. Android without root only lets apps access files you choose and writable shared storage. Flash storage wear leveling can keep old physical blocks outside app control. NullFile is designed to make recovery harder where Android allows overwriting. It is not a replacement for full-device encryption, factory reset, or enterprise device management.
NullFile does not require an account and is built around local, user-started actions.
