About this app

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been sensitive to the challenges faced by the visually challenged in conducting their day to day business with Indian banknotes. MANI will aid the visually impaired to identify the denomination of Indian banknotes of Mahatma Gandhi Series and Mahatma Gandhi (New) series by capturing the image of the notes placed in front of rear mobile camera. The application will generate audio and non-sonic notification intimating the currency note denomination to the user.

MANI utilizes the underlying Talkback feature of Android phones to help visually impaired users to interact with their mobile phone.

use less app... it detects even images as denomination........ RBI is just wasting resources and money in childish things.... child like app and of no practical use... scan image and fool visually impaired people.

I haven't gave it a 5 star because it just scanned duplicate notes of children bank of india and recognised as a real note !!!!

It works well with all other notes except old ₹10 note, for some reason it says ₹5 note. I tested it with multiple ₹10 notes the result was the same. I even tried zooming in and out the distance no changes in result. Also the notes should be layed out straight. There shouldn't be any other notes below the note being identified. It hard to mark a score for reliability of the app. But if you can't trust anyone around you, then the app could be life saver.
