Read My Text Messages reads out all of your notifications aloud, which is especially useful when driving. Simply turn on the app and all messages will be read out as they arrive.

You also have the option of setting messages to be repeated, if you'd like to hear them twice.

Read My Text Messages is compatible with headphones so if you are running whilst listening to music, the music will be paused, your message read out through your headphones and then the music will resume playing.

Read My Text Messages is also compatible with Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth car stereo systems.

You will require a Text To Speech engine, most devices have these installed as standard and there are several free options available to install.

Read My Text Messages supports all languages which are available for the Text To Speech engines, simply set your chosen language to have your messages read out aloud to you.

Paid for no ads. No ads for a few days but now ads are back. Contacted developer - crickets. Worst of all, it stopped working completely. Paying removed functionality instead of removing ads!!!

Sometimes it works even when I put my phone on silent + do not disturb 😡! So when I was at work and put my phone in the lockers in the office area, I had set it to silent and Do Not Disturb then 6 hrs later I came in to hear it making announcements etc! After work, I turned off the DND and put the volume up then the next day it wasn't saying anything! Ugh! I missed several important messages bc of it not talking! On days when it talks it's good.

I do appreciate what the dev is doing here. This app does exactly what it says for absolutely free. The ads are not invasive, and the app works very well. However, the reason for the 4 stars is the lack of option to choose what is read. The moment it is turned on, it immediately reads everything without a way to select what is read. You can change these via permissions per app, but if they add a feature for this in the "premium" tier (very affordable BTW), this app would be absolutely perfect.
