Latest update introduced a bug where after a while of not listening, pressing play from the notification bar does not work and you have to open the app to press play and for everything to work normally again. Also, after force stopping the app, it will eventually open itself in the background again. Please add view customisation options (e.g. list view, smaller tiles, toggle between expanded vs title only view for episodes). The app is great but clunky feeling.

This has been my go-to podcast app for several years (and phones) now. Pretty much everything I have looked for I can find with Guru. The only thing that bugs me is that even though I have it set not to let other devices auto start the playback, it always starts when I get into my vehicle. I hope this can be addressed and fixed. =)

Hey SJ, it's kind of a hack (to block other devices play commands, honestly they should have an option for this), but we have a special setting for that. From the app go to Settings -> "Allow external devices to start playback" and disable it. If that doesn't work please contact us via in-app support and let us know.

This app has some truly fantastic features, such as tagging, playlists, etc. The one big bummer which will probably stop me from using it as my default is that you can't seem arbitrarily order items in your playlists (e.g. I want to set a specific order to my podcasts beyond simple sorting). Also, for smart playlists, it would be very useful to be able to trim the number of episodes so I could create lists like "morning news" that would only have the latest episode from each of my feeds.

What's new

New in this release: We're excited to introduce Podroll support, a Podcasting 2.0 feature that allows podcasters to suggest other podcasts directly within our app. We've also expanded the user interface for better visibility in our podcast and episode details. Finally, we've enhanced the sleep timer with a new 'shake to extend' feature and a smooth audio fadeout for a more relaxing wind down experience.
