The SRHR Dictionary App is a compilation of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights terminologies translated and explained in bengali. These words were compiled from frequently used terms. Many terms used in the field of SRHR are English terms. Proper and adequate translations of these key SRHR terms in Bangla are not available. Translations provided by ‘Google Translate’ might seem useful but they are often incorrect and unclear. This shows the difficulty of properly translating SRHR terms without losing their intended meaning in translation. Hence, there is a lack of SRHR vocabulary in Bangla. This hampers the dialogue and effective communication on SRHR in Bangladesh, especially at the community level where people have a limited understanding of English. In the end, the dialogue on SRHR related issues is the key to effectively changing SRHR policies and practices. This provides easily communicable translations for SRHR terminologies in Bangla.
