About this app

Learn French with 6,000+ real videos from native speakers, in the accent you want. From beginner to advanced.

Reelang looks like a normal short video feed. The difference is that it adapts to your level of French. You watch real TikToks, YouTube Shorts and other clips from France and Québec, and we add new ones all the time.

You scroll. Reelang keeps finding French you can understand.

Pick the French you are actually learning

Most apps teach one French. Reelang lets you choose.

France, Québec, or both. Every clip is labelled with where it comes from, so you always know which French you are hearing. Moving to Montréal? Set the feed to Quebecois. Preparing for an exam? Set it to France. Change it whenever you like. Clips from Belgium turn up too, labelled like everything else.

Smart Subtitles show you what to learn first

Not every word is worth your time. Smart Subtitles tell you which ones are. You see whether a word is among the 500, 1,000 or 2,000 most common words in French, and anything rarer shows its exact rank.

A feed that grows with you

Native French is fun when you can follow it, and exhausting when every sentence gets away from you.

Reelang picks videos at your level, so the speech stays real and you can still follow it.

You do not need any French to start. Beginners get a guided path: short clips, slower and clearer speech, and the most common words first. Basic French, spoken by real people, from your first day.

The feed starts with the easiest French it has and speeds up as you do. When a clip runs away from you, Focus takes it sentence by sentence.

If you know the term comprehensible input, that is the idea. Real French you can almost always understand, with enough new in it to keep learning.

Use subtitles. Then hide them.

Start with Smart Subtitles when you need help. When a clip begins to feel easy, hide them and listen again.

Some videos have the subtitles burned into the image. A normal player cannot take those off the screen. Reelang can. Hide them and you are only listening, not reading.

Same clip, same voice, no text. Little by little you start catching words, then whole sentences, without any help.

Learn vocabulary where people actually use it

A word sticks when you hear a real person use it in a real situation.

Instead of working through lists, you meet new words inside TikToks, Shorts and other native clips, slang included. Want to stay on one video longer? Open Focus: it plays a sentence with no text, asks how much you caught, then breaks it down word by word until it lands. Tap a word to keep it for review.

The fun part is the part that teaches

Reelang is built on videos people would watch anyway: funny clips, stories, street interviews, everyday life.

This is not a lesson dressed up as entertainment. It is real entertainment in French, with the learning tools around it. That is why opening the app tomorrow does not take discipline.

Reelang+ is optional. It gives you unlimited Learner Insights that explain grammar, slang and why people say things the way they do (free accounts get a couple a day). It also brings your vocabulary back in new clips so the words stick, and unlocks your full Reelang Chart.

You can still watch and learn without Reelang+.

Getting ready for a listening exam?

DELF, DALF, TCF and TEF all measure the same thing: understanding real French the first time you hear it, at natural speed. Audio at exam pace, in France and Québec accents, is what this feed already is.

Use Reelang for French listening practice, comprehensible input, vocabulary in context and French immersion. Quebec French, Canadian French or the French of France: the feed keeps the speech real and the difficulty manageable.
