About this app

ResearchObs is a flexible behavioral observation app designed for animal researchers, students, zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries, and animal care teams who need organized, tablet-friendly data collection.

Create custom species profiles, organize groups and individuals, define behaviors, add session details, and run structured focal or group scan observations from a clean observation interface. ResearchObs is built for real-world behavioral research settings where species, groups, study designs, and field conditions can vary across projects.

The app is local-first by design. Observation data is saved on your device unless you choose to export, back up, upload, or share it. ResearchObs supports file export for outside analysis and optional cloud upload tools for Dropbox and Google Drive when you choose to connect them.

ResearchObs also includes built-in reporting tools to help users review and explore collected data. Reports can support summaries such as behavior patterns, heat maps, and social-network-style views, giving teams a clearer way to inspect observations before moving into formal analysis.

ResearchObs is intended as a research and data-organization tool. It is not a veterinary, diagnostic, or automated welfare-decision app. Users should review exported data, reports, and summaries before using them for formal analysis, publication, institutional reporting, or animal care decisions.
