I would give this a higher rating but some of the glslp shader presets don't work for me on my galaxy note edge phone. EDIT: I sort of found a way to control the menus better with having the controls overlay the menu itself. You can then change values in the menus with more control. Though for some reason the scroll down with the overlay results in a cutoff because the program doesn't follow what the contoller is selecting.
I can admit there is some difficulty using RetroArch. There are some bugs to be worked out. But, once you have it figured out, there really isn't any better emulation in the android market. NES, Mega Drive, PlayStation all work, with minimal latency, and perfect accuracy. For something available on all platforms, that is free and open source, I think this deserves a higher average rating. I give 5 stars for the dedicated time and work put into this software, and for making it possible to play older games I grew up with not just on Android, but on Linux and Windows.
It keeps getting better and better! Version 1.4.1 has a ton of new features and improvements. It's not easy to pick up and use, but once you learn how to configure it to your liking, it's the definitive multi-emulator. Try it on Windows/Mac/Linux also!
Really needs an option to remove downloaded cores, very annoying to have games launch on a wrong core by default. Also a keyboard for numeric options would be nice, instead of tapping the thing a hundred times like an idiot (to change overlay opacity, for example). Fast alphabetic scrolling would be a good addition as well, slowly scrolling through a huge list of files is a chore.
Back on top form; this really is a great deck for emulation. Admittedly it can take some time to get it "just so" and a lot of that is just on you, but with great power and all that. Just remember Google is your friend and it is well worth digging in! I've combined my android setup with some syncing software and the PC counterpart: now I can take my games with me and play from the same saved state on a big screen at home. Perfect!
When I was running Phantasy star for a couple of hours. I accidentally hit the keyboard button and the gamepad disappeared. Back in the 1.3.6 update. It actually made me use the keyboard but here in 1.4.1 it didn't show any keyboard at all. I can't even access the menus because the overlay disappeared. What the heck guys. Can you please fix this. Also another thing is when makonfg an update. Don't update the full version of older version into the beta version of he new product. That doesn't make any sense at all. You are giving a functional version than giving us the unfinished product
