Flare is a layered raster image editor. A Flare document is a stack of pixel layers with a fixed size in pixels, a resolution and a colour mode, saved by default as a TIFF that keeps its layers.
• Layers, groups, blend modes, layer masks, layer styles, smart objects, fill and adjustment layers.
• Selections: marquee, lasso, magic wand, colour range, subject selection on device, refine edge.
• Painting and retouching: brush, eraser, clone stamp, gradient, type.
• Adjustments: Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation, Color Balance, Selective Color and more — as commands or as adjustment layers.
• Filters: blur, sharpen, noise, distort, Liquify, render, stylize.
• Remove Background, Select Subject and Depth Map on the device: each model is downloaded once from rainbowfactory.uk and checked with SHA-256. Your pictures never leave this device.
• Colour modes RGB, CMYK, Lab, Grayscale, Indexed and Bitmap; 8 and 16 bits per channel.
• Camera Raw: develop raw photographs and bring them in at 16 bit.
• Opens and saves layered TIFF, opens PSD / PSB; exports PNG, JPEG, WebP, JPEG XL and TIFF.
• AI Console: runs on the device with Gemini Nano where supported, or with your own Claude or Gemini key in Settings. Report any answer from the chat with one tap.
• Floating palettes and workspaces, several windows at once, the desktop keyboard shortcuts.
• Found a bug? The Feedback palette (Window ▸ Feedback or Help ▸ Send Feedback…) sends your message and screenshots to the Flare feedback inbox.
