SOS Alert is an emergency app which helps you out whenever your safety is at risk by reaching out to your emergency contacts and providing them with your current location.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Whenever you are in an emergency, you need to press the SOS Widget or the SOS button in the app
2. As soon as you press the button/widget, a countdown of 3 seconds starts immediately (you can cancel the SOS Alert if you want to, before the countdown ends)
3. When the countdown ends, the app fetches your location from the GPS on your device and sends (through SMS) your location along with your SOS Message (which is pre-saved on your device) to the emergency contacts that you have registered in the app
4. The registered emergency contacts receive your SOS Message and a link of your current location as an SMS from your mobile number

Perfect app!! I can type, change or edit and save it. I can do the same for the recipient(s). BEST part it's completely free and the GPS is very accurate! Other similar apps have a monthly fee plus draw backs. Message sent out very quickly, in a matter of a few seconds top.

Quite easy to register and easy yo use. Love it for quick alert. ***Note: I would suggest that we have a choice of who needs to be alerted, either one person or the rest of the group of contacts at once. (We operate with whatsapp groups and the contacts number is quite large) Also inform what's the maximum contacts allowed.

I butt dialed my parents with the SOS in the middle of the night...wasnt the "test experience" I planned for them! Whoops. Good news, it worked with accurate location. What I DID NOT like is it showed up in my standard text string on my phone as a sent text message (x3), so if I was in a bad situation, sent the SOS, then had my phone taken, there's evidence and proof that I sent help. Seems like it should be much more discrete and incognito.
