This was a decent free app, now they want to charge you no matter what. You can get a free trial and cancel anytime. Or its subscribe to it. I've had this app on my phone and used it here and there for over year, maybe even 2 years. You used to have a lot of access, then it started to limit how many recipes you could see without being a member. Now you have to be. Not changes for the better.

Not enough recipes, let alone Indian recipes... Even with the limited Indian recipes there is no step by step, only videos playing of YouTube. The UI is clean and simple, but that's just to mask the fact it doesn't show much. There is no settings to customize the UI (eg. Measuring system). A huge let down cause I thought I finally found the best meal planning app.

Food is a religion for many and I am a firm follower of that religion. Resultingly, I am a die-hard foodie who wants to explore the various cuisines that the world has to offer but sadly most of the "continental or italian" food that most restaurants offer are Indianised. Now I am a middle-class employee who frankly cannot afford going to an expensive restaurant for fine dining and originality. That is where cookbook enters the scenario. Firstly, when you sign-in to the app, I loved how I was able to customise the categorisation shown to me and the personalised effect it has on the whole array of cusines that it displayson the app. I can even set my dietary goals on the app which helps, as it suggests me some tips in the form of a compilation of nutrition facts and corresponding food recipes and also some articles. Meanwhile, it also has a localised approach to the display of recipes. You can become addicted to a whole another cuisine but sooner or later, maybe once in while, you wanna satiate you inner Indian, atleast in my case. Cookbook not only recommends me some amazing easy recipes(cus that's the level I chose) but suprisingly the dish turns out to be great with the help of the detailed recipe and video. Now either I can spend hours to find the right video on Youtube or any other internet site or I can just go to cookbook and find a detailed explanation on how to make that particular dish. Lastly, I work in an environment with lots of stress and things to do. This makes it impossible for me to even enjoy the process of cooking, because by the time I get back home I am so tired that I cannot even muster the energy to go outside again because I forget to buy my ingedients on the way or even when I do buy the things I miss out on one thing. Ofcourse, you cannot make pasta without pasta noodles now, can you. Cookbook has this feature where you can make a shopping list based on the recipe you want to make . You can just press a button and the ingedients get added to a shopping list. And most of all, I love how every month they encourage a theme for the dishes. This whole thing gets me pumped up to cook and I look forward to the next month's theme, probably not as much as the next GOT season, but close enough. Therefore, in the never-ending battle between my working self and foodie self, cookbook has come out to be great alliance. Thanks to the creators of cookbook, I can indulge myself in what I love without becoming broke or unemployed. 😊

Wow. That was the most incredible piece of feedback we've ever received. Thank you so much Mareena. It is so incredibly well written that we would like to use it on our blog with your permission. We're really excited to know you loved the app; and most importantly took time to tell us how much you loved it. Thank you so so much.
