Ribbon keeps your place in a book, on every device you read on.

Start a chapter on your phone at lunch, open your tablet in the evening, and the book is
already on the right page.

READING
Ribbon opens EPUB and PDF files that are already on your device. It reads them where they
are, so nothing is copied into the app and nothing is uploaded. Opening Ribbon takes you
straight back to the page you stopped on.

You can set the typeface, text size, line height and margins, and choose between five
reading surfaces: Paper, Sepia, Grey, Ink and Black. Six typefaces are included, among
them Atkinson Hyperlegible, which was drawn by the Braille Institute to be legible to
people with low vision. A greyscale mode drains the colour from the page while leaving
the rest of the app alone.

KEEPING YOUR PLACE ACROSS DEVICES
Pair a phone and a tablet with a short code. From then on, your position in each book,
your library, your highlights and your collections stay the same on both. If you have
read further ahead somewhere else, Ribbon offers to take you there rather than moving you
without asking.

There is no account to create, no email address to give and no password to remember.
Pairing happens directly between your own devices, and costs nothing.

SENDING A BOOK TO YOUR OTHER DEVICE
Once two devices are paired you can send a book from one to the other across your own
Wi-Fi network. The file travels directly between the two devices and never passes through
a server.

HIGHLIGHTS AND NOTES
Press and hold a passage to keep it, and add a note to it if you want one. Anything you
keep appears on your other device, and tapping it takes you back to the exact spot in the
book it came from.

YOUR LIBRARY
Search by title, author or tag. Group books into collections of your own, and mark them
as favourites, currently reading, want to read, or finished. You can bring in a whole
Calibre library at once, or browse and download from an OPDS catalogue.

PRIVACY
There is no advertising in Ribbon, no advertising ID, no analytics and no third-party
trackers. Your book files never leave your device. Nothing is synced at all until you
choose to pair a second device. Crash reports are optional and can be switched off in
Settings. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.

Ribbon is not a bookstore and does not sell books. It opens the files you already have —
bought elsewhere, borrowed from a library, downloaded from Project Gutenberg, or exported
from Calibre.
