About this app

The official RideMETRO app allows you to plan trips and pay for rides on bus and rail services operated by METRO public transit in Houston, Texas.

By allowing the app to access your location, you’ll see:
• Nearby bus and rail routes
• Real-time arrival estimates for nearby buses
• Scheduled arrival times for nearby trains

You can even choose to receive onscreen notifications or pulse vibrations at key points during your trip.

THE QR CODE TO SCAN IS WAY TOO TINY. I can never consistently scan the code on the first try, and I end up holding up the line trying to scan it. I also think that the digital card and physical card should be able to be used interchangeably, especially in case a physical card gets lost and should get locked through the app. I think that service alerts for delays should be improved to try to avoid ghost buses, sometimes the real time isn't accurate. Also, please stop randomly logging me out!!!

This app was completely unreliable and difficult to navigate, especially as a first-time metro rider. I wish I had known the bus literally won't pick you up unless you wave it down. So I waited half an hour for my route, only for it to speed past me. That's unforgivable in 100°F weather. :( Please add a disclaimer in your app or instructions on how to board.

useless app. first my old fares won't transfer over including the free ones I earned from riding. now I'm standing in the bus for 5 minutes trying to scan a TINY QR code they placed at the bottom of the scanner has no indication if it's scanning so I'm just standing there trying to get it to pay. It takes entirely too long..... update it's been months my first issue are still issues. the schedule means nothing to the drivers. The app says 5 min away bus comes in 2.
