It is always bad to be forced to switch apps for a service and for the "new" app to be less useful and harder to use. was able to buy multiple day passes with the q fare app but can only buy 1 at a time with this app. Also can't access fare qr code if you lose connection. The only "upgrade" is the ability to see nearby routes but that is only a positive of you're familiar with the routes already. Trip planner isn't any better than Google maps transit info.

Dangerously misleading in a crisis. Though useful under normal circumstances the app doesn't do a good job of notifying when the metro shuts down (such as due to weather). It keeps calculating arrivals as if the buses were still running. This can string the user along with false hope of evacuation until your phone dies, the hotels are full, and you're facing the prospect of a night on the streets.

This app sucks. especially with the new fare update. I created two different accounts and didn't get a single verification email. I made sure to get all of my information correct each time. Also, why in the world do we need individual cards now? Are you trying to make riding busses inaccessible, too? I ride with my family, and it's easier if we are all in one group.

What’s new

You can now create and fund a virtual fare card inside the app to pay for your rides. The app will provide a QR code that can be scanned below the fare validator on METRO vehicles and rail platforms.
