Okay, this game is pretty decent for a Vampire Survivors type 16-bit retro game. Stuff I liked - - All guns (Flamethrower / Laser / Machine Gun) etc. have a unique variation on how they clear mobs. All equally easy to pick up. - Close range character (attacks on both enemy & ally) uses a knife attack. Makes it worth entering close range in battle. -There is a focus on distinct lack of HP-recovery items in stage, so the meta is for a fast battle Stuff I didn't like - Japanese mobile game QOL

I've played plenty of roguelites before, but Metal Slug Rush really stands out to me. The pixel art is nostalgic, and the game runs smoothly. My only gripe is that the aspect ratio is fixed and doesn't fill the entire screen. It's a small thing, but it does break the immersion a bit for me. Overall, it's a solid game.

I am a hardcore metal slug fan, love almost every game in the series. I had so much expectations from this game being the 30th anniversary of the IP. I have to say I am quite disappointed, - game itself is 6/10 fun a standard rougelike shooting game - in app purchase is very expensive, even the launch celebration gifts requires payment - no thorough guide player had to figure out how to play themselves WORST thing is the connection, game failed to start MANY times despite I have a good wifi!
