This app used to work perfectly.... until the latest update. I've had the unit for almost 5 years and its worked pretty much flawlessly, until I think the most recent July 2026 update. Now the "Start Recirculation" button is often "pink" instead of "red" (essentially grayed out). so I can't manually turn on the recirculation outside of the scheduled times. it once reset my water temperature to 108 (default) from my 120. this used to happen if I lost power, but this time I did not lose power.

I recently (~1 week ago) installed the latest app version 5.0.4 (313) following it being pushed out by Google. The new release has some glitch that is causing my Android phone (Galaxy S25 Ultra) to abnormally consume battery and it has also crashed numerous times this past week. My phone's op system brought this issue to my attention and recommended that I put the app in a "Deep Sleep." I obviously would rather not do that. HELP!!!

This company really doesn't care. Hard to say what is an app versus hardware issue though. Frequently fails to stop recirculating and often doesn't reflect actual status. Biggest gripe is that I bought the Rinnai because I wanted a tankless heater that worked with Google which it originally did. The newer app does not. Rinnai blames it on Google but somehow thousands of devices have figured out how to properly program their apps to work with Google. I own many myself.
