✨ HOW IT WORKS — IN 4 STEPS

Choose when you want to focus (morning, night, and more) and your goals.

The front camera confirms you're present while the timer counts down.

Finish a session and earn usable time as your reward.

4️⃣ Auto-lock when spent
When you reach 0 minutes left, target apps are gently blocked.

🎯 FOCUS & EARN
The focus timer only advances while you're actually present at the screen. Finish a session and you earn the free time you set; quit early and you earn nothing. You can freely set the focus length, the reward minutes, and the number of rounds.

🕐 YOUR OWN RULES, PER TIME OF DAY
Just drag on the 24-hour dial to set multiple focus windows. Each window can have its own focus goal, usable minutes, rounds, and blocked apps. Outside your windows, you're free. You can even set a "pre-leisure" allowance to use upfront.

🔒 A GENTLE LOCK
Spend the usable time in a window and target apps lock automatically. Distractions are also locked during focus sessions. A "settings lock" prevents you from loosening your own rules later.

See your usable time, today's focus, and day streak at a glance. Weekly and monthly trend graphs, a focus calendar, and an "earned vs. spent" view help you feel the impact and stay motivated.

🔐 PRIVACY FIRST
A camera for focus detection can sound worrying, so Ripen is designed privacy-first:

Face presence is detected on-device with ML Kit. Footage is never sent to external servers.

🚫 No image saved or sent
It only checks whether a face is there. Photos and footage are never saved or uploaded.

💾 Data stored locally
Focus records and settings stay on your device. Uninstall and no data remains.

⚠️ BEFORE YOU START
Auto-lock needs "Usage Access" and "Accessibility" permissions, and presence detection needs "Camera" (all granted manually, per Android). Even without these permissions, you can still use the focus timer and records (only blocking won't work). Ripen doesn't forcibly disable apps — it's a soft mechanism designed to change behavior. For face detection, we recommend a well-lit environment.
